I think in the early stages of grief to have feelings of wanting to die because you want so badly to be with your child are normal. I think if we are honest, there are times in early grief where we would just like to go to sleep one night and not wake up the next morning. You want so much for the pain to end and to be with your child again. While I think these thoughts are normal, if you begin to have thoughts of taking action on these thoughts, please seek professional help immediately. You can call the National Suicide Prevention Line at 1-800-273-8255. You can reach out to a trusted friend. See your doctor or a therapist, but please do something. I will talk more about my own personal experiences with this tomorrow. I know this post is on the dark side but I think it is important to talk about as losing a child is probably the most traumatic experience you can ever endure.
